Mount |
This
is a router mount that is design for applications like cnc cutting
or a jig of your own. The design uses 2 sets of 10-32 screws to hold
in the router. A shaft with a .500 inch diameter may be used to hold
a shaft that extend down to the vacuum hood that collects dust. The
6061 Aluminum material was machined on a VF-3 Haas CNC Center Milling
Machine. You can use the drawing below with the hole arrangements
to build your jig and holding fixture to accept the router mount. |

Hood |
This
hood is made of 6061 Aluminum that will last you a while over plastic
models. The diameter of the vacuum hole is 2.25". This was designed
to be used with a Rigid Shop vacuum that has a 2.25 outer diameter
hose. It will snug fit right into the black tapered adapter that was
a rigid brand hoses connector that was fitted onto the hood. The cutting
hole is 1.5". This does not come with hoses or a vacuum. The
shafts are adjustable with a range of 2.5 inches and comes with screws
to hold the hood into place. The opening of the hood to the bottom
of the fibers is measured at 2.75". You will need to remove this
when changing tools. This hood was tested and was about 80% to 90%
effective in keeping the dust from flying all over the place. |
